more titles to add to the "just read" list

  • So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish by Douglas Adams

  • See below.

  • Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams

  • Take the voyage across the galaxy and through the multiverse, you won't regret it. Oh maybe one of the you(s) out there might but what of the chances it will be the very one that is reading this right now.

  • Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

  • Causes a bit of nervous laughter as it does not seem to be that far from our current reality.

  • DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman M.D.

  • Mostly harmless. (See above the directly above).

  • Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson

  • Wahhh Hoooo!!! (Or, I am running out of internet time in which to write an more lengthy appropriate response.)

Read this book. No really, if nothing else you will find it challenging, engaging and humorous. You may want to throw it out the window or you may find in it great wisdom and a new understanding (or an old understanding) of the nature of reality. In either case you can not deny its intelligence, comical nature and power. It might just help you recognize the models which we place over our muddle and how to change this so as to make for better use of our models. Or you might just get a really good laugh, at, with and/or because of the author.

What the thinker thinks, the prover proves.

a question finally answered

a friend asked me quite a while ago over email "what is it that makes someone pack-up their life, say good-bye to family and friends and hit-the-road indefinately?" since then i have held this question with me and had started an email which was to address it. however while the answer was something that i felt within me it did not seem to want to be readily filtered through the language centers of the brain. i started one email, but perhaps due to circumstances at the time it came out sounding much harsher than the actuality - perhaps the severity was due in part to my surroundings at the time; the dark and sooty city of glasgow.

i still have not found expression of answer to this question but a friend of mine has published a post which i feel articulates my senitments for my decsision whole heartedly. (perhaps another factor for my trouble in noting the reasons for departure is that those reasons have faded from being a clear presence in my conscious mind now that i have been travelling for awhile and have been fulfilling, living those reasons rather than aspiring to do so.) in either case, i think that this is an excellent post for all in thinking about breaking out of there reality tunnel but not quite sure what that might mean or result in.

thanks Jit for this post.
